POST /api/v1/compliance/rules

Draft a rule (structured definition).

  • Scope compliance:rules:write
  • Idempotency-Key
  • operationId complianceDraft

The token needs the scope compliance:rules:write, and the person or service account behind it needs the matching privileges and account permissions, exactly as on the screens. See Scopes.

Idempotency-Key. Send a unique Idempotency-Key (up to 255 characters, e.g. a UUID) with every POST. Retrying with the same key and body replays the first answer for 24 hours, so a timeout never creates a second order; the same key with a different body is refused (idempotency_key_reused).

Request

POST /api/v1/compliance/rules

Headers

HeaderRequiredValue
AuthorizationyesBearer <token>: an OAuth access token (vat_…) or a personal access token (vpt_…). Get a token
Idempotency-KeyyesA unique string up to 255 characters (a UUID). Idempotency
Content-Typeyesapplication/json

Body: RuleIn

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
namestringnoThe rule's name.
rule_typestringnoOne of the 25 rule types: max_issuer_pct, max_sector_pct, max_position_pct, cash_minimum, restricted_list, wash_sale, fat_finger, udf_condition…
paramsobjectnoThe type's parameters, e.g. {"limit_pct": "5", "include_etfs": false} for max_issuer_pct.
scopeobjectnoWhat it applies to: {"type": "firm"|"group"|"package"|"account", "ids": [...]} (default: the firm).
severitystringno"block", "warn" or "info".
run_pointslist of stringnoWhen the rule runs: pretrade (each order), intrade (each executed slice), posttrade (end-of-day holdings).
change_ofanynoTo change an active rule: the id of the version you are replacing (a new version is drafted).
source_textstringnoYour wording, kept with the rule.

Decimals (money, prices, quantities, percentages) are sent as strings, ids as strings, times as ISO 8601 UTC.

Examples

Keep the token in an environment variable (VESTORIS_TOKEN), never in the script.
