Bottlenecks
Per stage: open now, finished, average and 90th-percentile time, SLA and breaches.

  • Boxes: in flight now, past their SLA now, due soon, SLA breaches in the period.
  • Per stage: open now (and how many are late), finished in the period, average and 90th-percentile time, the stage's SLA and breaches. Bars compare stages; a red bar is a 90th percentile above the stage's default SLA.
  • Busiest approvers, and rule ideas from patterns, for example "most small overrides are approved within a minute: consider auto-approval below $50,000". Ideas are proposals; a person drafts, tests and signs off any rule.

Stage times are elapsed time; SLA timers count business hours when the firm uses them.

  • The workflow monitor Everything in flight that waits on a person, with its stage, owner, age, SLA, what blocks it and the next action; claim, reassign, escalate and comment.
  • Desks and SLAs Desks with members and an assignment mode; each stage's SLA and escalation chain; business hours.
  • Workflow rules Conditions and actions that decide approvals, queues, assignment, priority and SLAs; drafted in a sentence or a form, replayed on a test bench, signed off by an Admin (and Compliance when weaker).
